Abstract

The article theoretically analyzes the motivation to create alternative forms of parenthood. The concept of motivation is seen as a motivation for action, a dynamic process of physiological and psychological plan, motive – this is what causes certain actions caused by their own needs, emotions, human position. The leading motivational complexes of surrogate parents are singled out: harmonious, altruistic, material, normative, egocentric. The author analyzes the constructive and destructive motives for creating alternative forms of parenthood and their impact on the success of functioning. The concept of “effectiveness of surrogacy” is described and its main components are described. Prospects for further research are the study of psychological aspects of surrogacy, patterns and mechanisms of the phenomenon of socio-psychological mutual adaptation of surrogate parents and children adopted into the family, personal determinants of this adaptation.
