Abstract

Goal: to study the relationship between achievement motivation and self-esteem among students. Participants: 72 students aged 17-47 years (Mdn=23). Methods: Rosenberg's self-esteem scale, The Mehrabian Achieving Tendency Scale, State Self-Esteem Scale. Results: strong linear positive relationships were found between achievement motivation and state self-esteem, performance-oriented self-esteem, social self-esteem, global self-esteem. A moderate positive linear relationship was found between achievement motivation and appearance-oriented self-esteem.
